Del Rio Parks Foundation Announces Title Sponsorship and Entertainment Lineup for Inaugural Bounty & Brew Event
Del Rio, TX, October 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Marking one month until the inaugural fundraiser, The Del Rio Parks Foundation announced today details about its Bounty & Brew Local Food and Texas Craft Beer Tasting event slated to take place at the Del Rio Community Garden in Del Rio, Texas. Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, in cooperation with the Hurta family, have joined on as title sponsors of the event, and Red River Waste Management has committed support for the execution of a zero waste event—a first of its kind in Del Rio. Two local music groups have also signed on to provide entertainment for the evening.
Bounty & Brew was conceptualized as an innovative way to raise funds for the Del Rio Parks Foundation, while connecting chefs, ranchers, farmers and other food producers in the Southwest Texas region with the community at large for a night of food, beer, revelry and sustainability awareness.
“Aside from raising funds for our Foundation projects, we really hope to highlight the ways in which we can all buy and eat more locally,” said Laura Gill, President of the Del Rio Parks Foundation. “All of the featured chefs and food producers are doing very exciting things in the community. They will be working together to create seasonal artisan small plates and we can’t wait to see the outcome of these collaborations.”
The event would not be possible without the support of Texas Farm Bureau Insurance and John and Katelyn Hurta.
“We're proud and extremely excited to sponsor the Bounty and Brew event,” said Katelyn. “As agricultural producers ourselves, and strong advocates of the industry, we hope that events such as these will spread awareness and spark community support for local producers and their products.”
Bounty & Brew is proud to feature food generously donated by Hargrove Ranch, Hudspeth River Ranch, Rancho Ojo de Agua, Granja La Negra and Robert’s Honey. Local chefs, businesses and food enthusiasts contributing their culinary talents include Chef Adan Cortez, Lou’s Woodfire Pizza, Fragola’s Catering, Lou’s Guiltless Goodies, Armpit of Texas Cooking Show, Mike Tanaka, Elizabeth MacTavish, and Sweet Popping Kettle Corn. Non alcoholic beverages will be contributed by Eva and David's Alkaline Water Store and The Solution.
Local Texas Brewery Freetail Brewing Company, in conjunction with Silver Eagle Distributors, will provide a festive assortment of their beer line to fundraiser attendees and craft beer experts will be on-hand to discuss the selection.
The Del Rio Parks Foundation is also partnering with the Del Rio High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department. Students in Chef Adan Cortez’s culinary program will be doing research and conducting interviews with each chef and food producer, as well as providing support to them on-site at the event.
“One of the objectives of CTE is to give our students the opportunity to participate in the field of study that they will be endorsed in for graduation,” said Chef Adan Cortez “As for the Culinary Arts program, part of our curriculum is to teach our students about sustainable living and the use of local and regional products for developing flavor profiles and menus. It is an honor for us to be involved in the development of this community project and fundraising event.”
Additional spots are open for chefs and producers wishing to participate in the event and featured stories on all partners will be posted on the Del Rio Parks Foundation page in the coming weeks.
Live musical entertainment will be provided by George and the Watchtowers, a Del Rio musical act that plays classic rock favorites, Americana and more. Between live sets DJ INTLKT will be spinning a modern fusion of hip hop and jazz music.
Tickets to Bounty & Brew are $30 in advance and can be purchased at bountyandbrew.com. Ticket prices will increase to $40 at the door. There is limited capacity for this event, so attendees are encourage to purchase tickets in advance.
