LA Corporate Challenge 5K Race - Thousands Prepare
The biggest health and wellness event in Los Angeles is taking place at the beginning of February 2017. Are you ready?
Los Angeles, CA, October 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The 5K Race, one of 30 exciting sporting events of the LA Corporate Challenge, is always one that thousands look forward to and prepare for. Some people train for it because they are heavily into fast timing and pushing themselves to do better each time they run the race. Then there are some that run the race at their own leisure just for fun and exercise. The beauty behind the 5K race is that it allows both. You can actually run a 5K race without heavy training and still live a normal life the next day without your body being extremely sore.
For those new to this, the 5K race is a long-distance running competition over a distance of five kilometers (3.1 miles). It is the shortest of the most common road running distances. The outcome of this race is normally a sense of mind relief knowing you were able to run or walk in such a well known race and allow your mind and body to have the exercise it needs. It's a form of training for many also who go one to compete in half and full marathons.
The Corporate Challenge is an Olympic-type event that allows Los Angeles Area corporations to interact with each other through a variety of sporting events. One of the largest corporate games in the country, and with a successful track rate of 40 years, LACC looks forward to continued growth in the years to come. The involved competitors represent an employee base of over 150,000 Los Angeles individuals. Thousands more are spectators and several thousand more act as volunteers to assist with the games. Registrants are allowed to sign up as a company who sponsors all of it's employees or as individuals who represent the company they work for.
The LA Corporate Challenge mission is to promote health, wellness, and camaraderie by presenting participants with physical endeavors designed to challenge their bodies and minds through the spirit of corporate competition. The philosophy of the LACC has always been to promote team building and employee fitness and recreation within the Los Angeles business community. No other event offers the diversity of sporting opportunities that are provided by the Los Angeles Corporate Challenge. We offer something for everyone. Recreational activities such as darts, horseshoes and fishing are represented as well as competitive athletic events such as softball, volleyball, swimming, and running. A non-competitive walk is one of the most popular events in the LACC and gives everyone a reason to get out and be active. Some of the many benefits to the companies who participate in the Los Angeles Corporate Challenge are: it improves employee morale; it allows employees to work together as a team outside of the workplace, building friendships and stronger work relationships; it allows employees to network with employees from other Los Angeles area businesses; and most importantly it gives these participants a reason to be active and contributes to their overall well-being. We’ve seen it work......many employees train year round for the LACC, many have stopped smoking, dropped some excess weight, and have simply begun to lead a healthier lifestyle.
We'll see everyone in February when the games begin.
