LifeStories Alive Encourages Individuals to Research Family Histories Throughout October

Austin, TX, October 15, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Mike O’Krent, founder of LifeStories Alive, encourages families to come together and research their personal family histories during the month of October – designated as Family History Month.

During the 90s, O’Krent was given the privilege to participate in the largest video compellation of personal recorded histories – Steven Spielberg's Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation.

“If it weren’t for this project, we could have lost one of the most valuable assets gained from World War II,” O’Krent said. “We cannot overstate the importance of capturing lessons learned from oral histories.”

For more than ten years, O’Krent has dedicated his life to the recording of (what he calls) personal LifeStories.

“LifeStories are personal,” O’Krent explained, “some experiences are invaluable to one’s family, while other stories are critical for the stabilization of society.”
