Jacob Miller Installed as Vice President of the Battle Creek Optimist Club

Battle Creek, MI, September 21, 2016 --(PR.com)-- On Tuesday, September 20th, Jacob Miller was installed as Vice President of the Battle Creek Optimist Club at Clara's on the River in downtown Battle Creek. The Battle Creek Optimist Club is the oldest service club in the city, charted way back in 1939. Optimists have the motto "Friend of Youth," meaning that they devote their attention to the children in the community, as they are the lifeblood of our future. Jacob wishes to continue that tradition of service. "By taking on more activities where we can interact face-to-face with the youth in our community, we will be providing value to our youth and leaving behind wonderful memories as well," Miller says.

Jacob is a financial advisor with Edward Jones in Battle Creek and knows all about giving back to the youth in the community. Jacob also serves as the Lakeview High School Key Club's Kiwanis Advisor, providing direction and assistance to hundreds of high school students. He also served as the umpire coordinator for the Lakeview Youth Association, managing a group of young umpires, many of whom never umpired a day in their life. "It's all about the kids," Miller says. "We need to teach them the fundamentals of life that seem to be lacking in today's society. We need to show them that a positive attitude will lead to a positive lifestyle." Jacob encourages anyone with a positive attitude and willingness to serve to attend a meeting at the Optimist Club to see about becoming a member.
