Deadline for Career Step’s National Military Family Association Full-Tuition Scholarship Approaching

Career Step will close the application period for its National Military Family Association scholarship on Monday, October 31.

Lehi, UT, October 21, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and professional training, will close the application period for its fourth quarter National Military Family Association (NMFA) scholarship on Monday, October 31. The selected recipient will receive a full-tuition scholarship for any Career Step certificate program.

“Education lifts the individual, the family and the community, and we are pleased to be part of that equation,” said Jerolyn Robertson, Career Step Vice President of Academics. “We provide quality education that leads to successful careers, and this scholarship demonstrates our dedication to supporting students’ success as they seek to elevate their opportunities and find careers suited to their specific needs.”

Career Step has teamed up with the National Military Family Association to award a full-tuition scholarship each quarter in 2016 to the spouse of an active duty service member or veteran of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard or National Guard. The recipient of the scholarship for the first quarter was Angela Tyrell, the wife of an Army veteran. The second quarter scholarship went to Maritza Aquino, whose husband was deployed to the Middle East earlier this year. The third full-tuition scholarship recipient was Shermaine Sampson-Turntine, the wife of a retired Army service member.

Military spouses who qualify for the fourth quarter scholarship can apply at CareerStep.com/nmfa by submitting an 800 to 1000 word essay on how they plan to use their education to benefit their family and/or community by Monday, October 31. Candidates must be registered with NMFA to apply.

“We are delighted to offer scholarships to military spouses to further their educational goals and help them begin careers that will benefit their families,” said Ben Hartman, Career Step Vice President of Enrollment. “We help transition students into rewarding careers in a fraction of the time it takes to earn a college degree, and because our programs are online, they are ideally suited to military families who move frequently."

Over the years, more than 15,000 military spouses and service members have trained with Career Step, and the school has been recognized as a Military Friendly School™ for six years in a row. Career Step is also an original member of the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) program run through the Department of Defense and is a MyCAA-approved school.
