Baxa Corporation Launches Campaign to Recognize IV Nurse Day and Introduce the New PadLock® Set Saver
New Baxa eCampaign targets IV Nurses to introduce the PadLock Set Saver and honors nurses for their dedication to patients. The PadLock Set Saver device is designed to promote best practice for aseptic IV administration set storage, preventing contamination of the administration set when disconnected from the patient. The Set Saver also eliminates the use of IV administration set caps, which are a known choking hazard – especially in pediatric applications.
Denver, CO, January 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Baxa Corporation announces the launch of a targeted campaign recognizing the dedication of infusion nurses to advancing the delivery of quality therapy to patients, promoting research and education in their practice and continually improving outcomes in patients receiving IV therapy. The new campaign is timed to launch on the 28th annual National IV Nurses Day. That day – January 25, 2008 – infusion nurses will join together to observe the National IV Nurse Day. Celebrated since 1980, when the US House of Representatives designated this day to honor and recognize the hard work of infusion nurse specialists, IV Nurse Day gives providers and suppliers alike a chance to recognize the accomplishments of this nurse specialty.
In addition to acknowledging the impact of nurse specialists in IV therapy, the Baxa eCampaign promotes a new product developed specifically to make the job of a nurse, or an IV nurse in particular, easier. The PadLock Set Saver device is designed to promote best practice for aseptic IV administration set storage, preventing contamination of the administration set when disconnected from the patient. The Set Saver also eliminates the use of IV administration set caps, which are a known choking hazard – especially in pediatric applications. The PadLock product provides temporary aseptic storage of the IV administration set when disconnected from the patient, replacing the need for disposable caps to maintain aseptic procedure. These features combine to reduce the number of disposables nurses need to handle for proper infusion technique and make it easier for nurses to provide the best possible patient IV administration set connections and disconnections, allowing IV nurses more time for direct patient care.
“In celebration of IV Nurses Day we wanted to raise awareness about how Baxa is working to make the jobs of the infusion nurses easier, says Megan Kleckner, Product Manager. “By offering nurses a sample PadLock, we hope that they will see its safety and ease-of-use for themselves," adds Kleckner.
