National Association of Corporate Directors North Texas Chapter Presents The Media and The Election on Election Day 2016

Dallas, TX, October 31, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Publisher and CEO of The Dallas Morning News to Discuss the Media’s Portrayal of the Presidential Election.

The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) North Texas, the advocate for the profession of directorship, today announced its November program in Dallas, The Media and The Election. The program will take place on Tuesday, November 8 at Hotel Crescent Court, and will discuss the media’s impact on the 58th Presidential Election.

Jim M. Moroney, III chairman, president and CEO of A.H. Belo Corporation as well as publisher and CEO of The Dallas Morning News, will share his firsthand insight on the media during election season and how the media affects the candidates and the election season as a whole. This timely program provides an opportunity to further understand the relationship between the media, the two major political parties, and the American voters, many of which no longer trust our candidates running for Oval Office.

“With the election being held on the same day as our November program, we are hoping to highlight the importance of participating in the election by encouraging our members to vote. Jim will provide a clear understanding on how the media has a direct and indirect influence on public opinion before heading to the polls,” said Rhys Best, president of the NACD North Texas chapter.

A half hour of networking will precede the program, which will begin promptly at noon. Lunch will be provided to all attendees during the program. Advanced reservation is required and the cost is $30 for members and $100 for non-members. Please make a reservation at the link here: http://bit.ly/2dISbdU.

“We are excited to have a local, notable publisher lead the discussion on an election season that is sure to go down in history as one of the most exciting elections America has seen to date,” said Maribess Miller, vice president of NACD North Texas. “Even if our members have already cast their ballot, our goal is that everyone in attendance will leave with a further understanding on American media, how the media impacted the rhetoric and actions of our political candidates, and the voter perception of our presidential candidates.”

The North Texas chapter is one of 22 chapters of the NACD, and has seen membership increase approximately 8 to 10 percent per year. For over 10 years, the chapter has been serving members with high quality educational programs, events and networking opportunities.
