Mars, PA, November 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The 2016 – 17 school year will see a new financial literacy resource available to Mars Area and Pine-Richland High School students. The online curriculum is sponsored by Mars National Bank and is called the “myMNB Financial Literacy Program.”
Mars National Bank is partnering with EverFi, Inc. to bring the program to local students at no cost to the schools or taxpayers. The eight-hour web-based program uses the latest in new media technology to bring complex financial concepts to life for today’s digital generation. The platform uniquely tracks the progress and performance of every student and provides students who successfully complete the course with certification in financial literacy, a valuable mark of distinction on college applications and resumes.
“Financial literacy is a missing piece among the other changes that were made after the financial crisis in 2008. As a community bank we believe that it is just as, if not more, important for people to understand financial issues and products as it is to create oversight of banking practices,” said Jim Dionise, Mars National Bank President and Chief Executive Officer. “That’s why we’re excited to partner with Everfi to bring this program to two of our local schools; we hope to expand the impact of financial education in the communities we serve. This program will help students have a better understanding of banking, finance and more.”
“EverFi strives to help today’s generation prepare for a lifetime of challenging financial decisions,” said EverFi Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Tom Davidson. “We are grateful for our partnership with Mars National Bank, which provides students with the critical skills they need to be savvy, responsible consumers.”
Mars National Bank is one true community bank focused on combining the products and technology that its customers need while maintaining its focus on long-term customer relationships.
