ClickCaster, Inc. Brings Web Video to Your TV with medioh!
ClickCaster Inc., a leading Podcasting company, announces its move to broadband TV with medioh!
Boulder, CO, January 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Changing trends in media consumption, the proliferation of high-speed Internet, and new system-on-a-chip technologies are driving adoption of broadband TV platforms, whether it be for entertaining, communicating, advertising, or training. As the Internet becomes the transport of choice for video and voice technologies, broadband TV will soon become the preferred medium for television, digital signage, and corporate communications for consumers, businesses, and educational institutions.
The team at ClickCaster has adapted its Podcasting technology into a rich broadband TV platform, and thus medioh! is born. Taking advantage of the Web 2.0 principles that powered ClickCaster, medioh! leverages RSS video feeds to create Internet TV channels, and its RSS aggregation technology to create a Program Guide.
“It’s built on top of proven ClickCaster server technology,” says founder and CEO Scott Converse. “It has a deep media guide with hundreds of thousands of channels with access to millions of videos. It has an easy to use set of producer creation and encoding tools and it can use our lightweight CDN software (co-developed with the University of Colorado) called DistribuStream (which we recently released as open source software).”
medioh! has partnered with makers of a set top box that runs on the DaVinci system-on-a-chip to offer a complete end-to-end solution for anyone to broadcast their message to the world. Combined with the medioh! server (available as an appliance or Software-as-a-Service) and medioh!’s broadband TV middleware platform, the customer now has the ability to generate and distribute their own content to any subscriber with an internet connection. Viewers can tune in from 2-feet (their computer screen), or 10-feet (TV in their livingroom) with the STB.
medioh! is a ClickCaster company founded by Scott Converse. He brings his expertise from companies such as Apple Computer, Paramount Pictures, Motorola and MCI. The medioh! team is comprised of seasoned web developers and accomplished Internet technology professionals.
