About Edward Phillips

Edward Phillips is a Partner in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group. He has over 28 years of experience in the areas of bankruptcy, restructuring, distressed M&A, accounting and forensic accounting services, and has represented a variety of parties in bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, forensic accounting engagements and post-confirmation engagements. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified in Financial Forensics.

Ed has worked with numerous creditors’ committees, debtors and secured creditors. Additionally, he has acted as a disbursing agent, plan administrator and liquidating trustee for post-confirmation committees. He has been an elected Chapter 7 Trustee. However, frequently trust agreements and their application lead to unintended and negative results, and the fact such entities operate in a post-confirmation environment with less court oversight does not diminish the need for transparency and engaged creditor/trust beneficiary oversight.
