Royal Wins vs The World – Game Jam Part I
Shining a positive light on innovation, young developers and skill gambling.
Sydney, Australia, November 04, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The popularity of casino games has fallen on troubling times amongst millennials which has prompted promising new developments from the adventurous pioneers within the gambling industry. At the forefront of these new developments is Sydney start-up gaming studio, Royal Wins, who have stepped away from solely chance-based games to develop skill wagering games which aim to recapture the interest of the younger audience given the popularity of casual skill games, such as Candy Crush Saga. Skill gambling also aims to remove the stigma surrounding chance based gambling by giving greater control of the winnings to the player based on their skill, and like regular non-wagering skill games are entertaining and worth the spend.
As Royal Wins continues to innovate the industry they are now looking to promote not only skill gambling, but innovation and development amongst millennials by hosting an Australian-first casino game jam that will focus on skill gambling. Royal Wins have teamed up with top-line local PR agency, Polkadot PR, to commence organisation for the 2017 event which looks to run in March or April 2017.
“The significance and impact of this Australian event is potentially staggering,” says Digital Marketer and Organising Committee Head, Michael Moretti, “For too long, these old-school casino behemoths have neglected or never really wanted to embrace and acknowledge the awesome talent in young developers out there, in a large scale public event that engages with them intellectually. Tech giants like Facebook, Google and Apple do it all the time in their developer conferences and hackathons. Well, we’re going to do it. Royal Wins is going to bring this innovative and disruptive mentality to Australia and throw away the stigmas surrounding casino games to make them safe, legitimate and cool again to millennials.”
Royal Wins will be issuing a challenge to any willing and able Australian developer to form a team of 3-5 members to join the jam, and spend 48 hours developing a skill wagering game in direct competition with a 10-person team from Royal Wins as the skill gambling experts. The winning team will receive a $5000 cash prize and be presented the opportunity to work with Royal Wins to fully develop their winning game for Royal Win’s skill casino product, the Kash Karnival.
Myles Blasonato, Creative Director, says that the event is akin to the Iron Chef “cook-off” contests. “We’re really looking for the best of breed to take us on. Whilst the applicants are not required to have any casino game development experience, ideally they should be skilful and talented game coders, artists, game designers that have a real competitive and an eagerness to 'stick it to the man,'” says Blasonato.
The event promises to raise awareness and shine a positive light on innovation, young developer talent, and skill gambling. Royal Wins will soon be announcing more details of this ground breaking event to the public and media, as their plans shape up. Stay tuned.
