Palmetto Ball Sharks Youth Baseball Team Awarded #1 Overall Ranking in the USA for Third Consecutive Month
Chapin, SC, November 06, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The 13U Palmetto Ball Sharks Baseball Club, from Chapin / Irmo, has been awarded the #1 overall national ranking in the latest United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) points standings, for the third consecutive month. USSSA is the world’s largest multi-sport athletic organization with more than 1200 teams competing at the 13U level.
The Ball Sharks #1 national ranking is a direct result of the sustained success they had this season. The team played in 6 tournaments this fall, playing in the Championship game in the last 5 tournaments, winning 3 of the titles. Offensively, the bats came alive, as the team outscored their opponents by more than 75 runs, averaging almost 4 more runs per game then their competition. Solid, fundamental defense and strong pitching performances, including two complete game shutouts, made it very difficult for other teams to score.
Team members of the Ball Sharks include Zach Glenn, Landon Kahl, Skylar King, Gavin McMillion, Blake Morrison, Davin Patterson, George Schodowski, Logan Small, Justin Spigner, Luke Spirek, Peter von Ahn, Drew Wahrmund and Cameron Williams.
The team is lead by manager Pete von Ahn and assistants Steve Spigner and Darrin Kahl.
Along with the continued support of families and friends, the Ball Sharks are thankful for their community sponsors - von Ahn Design, LLC; Express Oil Change and Service Center; SC Chapter, National Safety Council; Southern Custom Doors & Hardware; The Kitchen Planners.
