The Transition to the GRI Reporting Standards
17th meetup to address the transition from the GRIG4 Guidelines to the GRI Standards
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Sustainability Knowledge Group organizes the 17th meetup that will discuss the transition from the GRIG4 Guidelines to the GRI Standards, which aspires to be the 1st global standard for sustainability reporting.
What are the changes in the GRI framework?
How are these changes going to affect the way organisations report?
How should companies manage the transition phase to the GRI Standards?
What does this change mean for the future of Sustainability reporting?
The GRI Standards will:
· Have a new simple and modular structure based on GRIG4
· Have clearer requirements, recommendations and guidance for reporters
· Include additional clarifications on concepts and GRIG4 disclosures
· Be more flexible and simpler to use
· Result in some restructuring of GRIG4 content
GRI is currently adopted by thousands of organizations in more than 90 countries around the world. The new structure has 3 universal Standards (Foundation-GRI101, General Disclosures-GRI102 and Management Approach-GRI103), applicable to all organizations. The Universal standards guide organisations to report contextual information and disclose the management approach of each material topic. In addition, a selection of 33 topic-specific Standards cover specific economic (GRI200), environmental (GRI300), and social (GRI400) topics. Organisations will select from these topics to report specific disclosures for each material topic.
At the second part of this meeting members will discuss the newly created UAE local Chapter of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), the only professional body for Sustainability Professionals in the region.
Guest speaker: Aglaia Ntili
Aglaia is the Managing Director of Sustainability Knowledge Group, providing Sustainability and CSR advisory and training services at international corporate level. She is also the founder of CSR Coaching, supporting professionals in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. Aglaia has made important contributions as practitioner, trainer, coach and advisor.
