United Solutions Achieves a New Solution: Energy Efficiency
United Solutions, a manufacturer of high-quality plastic housewares, paint, office, and hardware products, has upgraded its Leominster, MA-based 170,000 square foot manufacturing facility to LED lighting. The company is expected to save over $60,000 a year with a project payback period of only 1.3 years.
Quincy, MA, November 30, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Prism Energy Services helped United Solutions upgrade its existing T8 and T5 highbay lighting to new LEDs. United Solutions had noticed some of the highbay lighting fixtures needed repair, while others had failed. Highbay lighting can be costly to replace or repair, especially in 30 foot ceilings. Prism Energy Services worked with United Solutions to identify cost-effective solutions.
In the manufacturing area, 234W T5 highbay lights were replaced with 86W LEDs, which have, on average, 75,000 hour longer lifespans than T5s. Motion sensors were also installed in select areas of the facility that are occupied intermittently. In the office space, 88W and 60W T8 lighting were replaced with LEDs.

United Solutions received over $133,000 in utility incentives from National Grid. United Solutions is estimated to reduce its energy consumption by over 534,000 kWh and save over $60,600 on its annual energy bills. The company is expected to become cash flow positive in under 16 months.
