Post Election America May be Too Sensitive for Crowd Funding of Bad Words™ Adult Board Game
Game creators' feelings hurt over lack of media pickups -- Bad Words™ company completely offended by bloggers responding that their game may be too offensive to write about.
Albuquerque, NM, December 01, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Just after the shocking results of the US election, Bad Words™ game creators were hoping to lighten up the mood among their friends and families with the launch of their table top game crowdfunding campaign. Dubbed, “A Twisted Tile Game,” the grid based board game shares characteristics with both a very popular letter tile game, and a card deck based party game with adult natured content.
For the next 19 days backers can pledge their support to the project, in exchange for one of many reward tiers including a copy of the game - one tier even including a flight to New Mexico to play with one of the creators’ mothers.
“Unfortunately, everyone seems to be so sensitive and soft after the recent US election or something. Well, however you feel about it... What could be a better time to have Bad Words™?” says an update on their Kickstarter campaign page. “Most of the blogs or media outlets we have reached out to are being ******s and do not want to write about anything ‘edgy,’ in fear of our campaign or product offending readers. We don't agree. We think this is the perfect time for people to get together, and break down their social barriers, loosen up... and just have fun.”
Although the game is actually labeled as, “100% Offensive,” the creators believe that it brings players together, and by making a fun time out of the taboo and socially unacceptable, helps to relieve any discomfort or hesitation about having an open mind. “Laughing is a great way to loosen up,” says one of the creators who requested to remain anonymous. “We didn’t think of this game as anything different than a stand up comic making an offensive joke. Once you laugh about something, you can alienate the idea from being an accepted norm. It’s not intended to make anyone feel bad. In fact, quite the contrary!”
Despite the backlash from media outlets, Bad Words™ has been met with much acclaim on a local level, becoming an Albuquerque hit at the local bars and breweries. Creators have been touring their nightlife scene with their only full prototype copy of the game for the last eight weeks.

About Bad Words™
Bad Words™ was created in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by three individuals who all met while working at a software company. It is a new concept in tile games, in which players draw a combination of letter tiles, theme tiles, and connector tiles, and the goal is to lay down an offensive or inappropriate sentence, or phrase, with every turn. The tiles have point values, which can be tallied up along with bonus areas on the game board, or the game can be played, “party style,” where the points do not matter and the winner is clear based on the amount of laughs garnered throughout the game.
The Bad Words™ crowd funding campaign runs through Sun., Dec. 18, 2016 11:59 PM MST.
