Event Synopsis:
The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) started the year 2016 with its continued focus on increasing the number of employers that can be found jointly liable. The Department of Labor (DOL) has also issued an Administrative Interpretation on how it views and would determine if two or more different entities sharing workers have joint employer liability. A website that sets out supplementary information regarding joint employment under the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act was also created by the DOL.
Indeed, joint employer liability has become a major concern in franchising, contracting, and other engagements wherein employers use workers who are not directly employed. Employers should begin evaluating the various considerations in joint employer analysis and should be cautious in dealing with contingent staff’s unfair wage claims.

They will provide an in-depth discussion of the various Joint Employer Liability developments and will also offer best compliance practices.
