Cary Psychologist Speaks to The People’s Pharmacy
Dr. Don Azevedo Interviewed on National Show about Marriage.
Cary, NC, December 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- They say the devil is in the details. And that’s often true of making a marriage work.
Psychologist Dr. Don Azevedo talked about the components of a healthy marriage in a recent episode of the radio show The People’s Pharmacy titled “How to Keep Your Relationship Healthy.” The more than 40-year-old radio show covers a range of health topics and is broadcast nationally on public radio stations.
A 75-year Harvard study recently found relationships are one of the strongest factors in a person’s overall happiness.
“Making a relationship work day after day is one of the biggest challenges people face,” Azevedo said. “Sometimes each person’s expectations about something seemingly small, such as who does the dishes, can amount to a big problem.”
Azevedo explained that each person’s family culture and history can impact the relationship. Understanding your differences and being mindful of your own baggage can help you manage the bumps in the road, he said.
Marital counseling is one of the focus areas of Azevedo’s Cary practice, Azevedo Family Psychology, which provides assistance for families, children, adults, and professionals.
“You can learn to express yourself differently and find creative solutions for your arguments, overall making your relationship stronger, healthier, and happier,” Azevedo said.
