Future in Humanity Increases Education Around Homelessness with New Services

Trainings and consulting now available on understanding homelessness, resource referrals, program implementation.

Fullerton, CA, December 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Future in Humanity, a California-based nonprofit serving the homeless through education, empowerment and support, announced today new training and consulting services for individuals and agencies seeking to grow in their abilities to serve the homeless. These services are designed to help advance greater understanding of homelessness, assist agencies in matching clients to the right services, and give organizations guidance on successfully executing programs for the homeless.

Basic needs for the homeless are often the most visible and easiest to meet. But for effective care that leads an individual from homelessness to housing, a deep understanding about the causes of homelessness and what can be done to bring individuals to self-sufficiency is necessary. To move forward in its mission to serve the homeless through education, Future in Humanity has developed training courses for individual volunteers and agencies addressing topics such as mental health issues, communication and listening skills, housing resources, case management and more.

In addition, Future in Humanity’s team members partner with ministries, agencies and groups with consulting services tailored specifically to the organization’s mission and homelessness population to build successful, step-by-step programs for homeless people based on team members’ research and evaluation of that community’s situation.

“Through the ongoing commitment of volunteers, people experiencing homelessness can gain the relational support and access to resources that move them from homelessness to housing,” said Ariel Yarish, Director of Development for Future in Humanity. “It is our honor to offer new services to train these dedicated individuals to serve their communities with a deeper understanding of homelessness and help offer solutions that can change someone’s life for the better.”

Future in Humanity began in 2010 to meet the basic needs of people experiencing homelessness through food, clothing and hygiene products. Since then, Future in Humanity has grown to address the underlying factors contributing to homelessness including mental health issues, a lack of access to the right resources, and gaps in the public’s understanding of homelessness. Future in Humanity works daily with organizations across Orange County and throughout the U.S. to make services easier to understand and access for their homeless clients while equipping individuals and groups with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively battle homelessness in their communities.

“The course has provided me with the framework and tools to offer services and resources to people in need at the homeless court,” said S.Elizarraras, Program Coordinator at Mariposa an agency that recently received consulting on its homelessness program from Future in Humanity.
