#ServingHopeLV Serves 4,200 Meals for Gobble Gobble Give on Thanksgiving Day
Gobble Gobble Give enlisted #ServingHopeLV for their Las Vegas Thanksgiving meal. #ServingHopeLV more-than-doubled last year's total plates served with a total of 4,200 meals.
Las Vegas, NV, December 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- What does it take to feed 4,200 homeless, unemployed, and underemployed people on Thanksgiving Day? Together, Gobble Gobble Give and #ServingHopeLV enlisted 600 volunteers who spent their Thanksgivings serving the Las Vegas community to do just that.
National nonprofit Gobble Gobble Give delivers food, clothing, and toiletries to the homeless in 11 cities across the country - from Boca Raton to San Francisco. For their Las Vegas-based efforts, Gobble Gobble Give enlisted the help of #ServingHopeLV, which is a local organization dedicated to ending poverty and hunger in the Las Vegas Valley.
The massive undertaking brought much-needed fresh food, clothing, hygiene supplies, and free haircuts to the people who most needed it. On Thanksgivivng Day, Gobble Gobble Give offered two options for meals. The first option was a "dine-in" experience, where volunteers served meals, sodas, and iced teas to those who wanted a restaurant experience, offering them a special treat. As an alternative, #ServingHopeLV provided a "take-out" experience for those less fortunate who wanted to eat away from the crowd.
Served in the Zappos parking lot, #ServingHopeLV's volunteers were joined by employees from Momenti Ice Cream and Century Link. Helix Electric provided 50 sweet potato pies, Parsley Modern Mediterranean restaurant provided 13 chickens and hams, and Loren Slocum Lahay personally brought shoulder bags full of food.
Through the partnership of Gobble Gobble Give and #ServingHopeLV, their volunteers, and their sponsors, Thanksgiving Day 2016 was a success, bringing food and hope to those who needed it most. Siloh Moses, the founder of #ServingHopeLV, says, "Our goal was to double the already amazing number of people Gobble Gobble Give served in Las Vegas last year. Our volunteers crushed it - after doubling 1,500 plates to 3,000 plates, they surpassed our goals and served an additional 1,200 plates, for a total of 4,200 individual meals."
One of #ServingHopeLV's volunteers added, "Gobble Gobble Give Las Vegas was an amazing event. Truly the most thankful Thanksgiving that I ever have experienced. I could not have asked for anything more from a true community event. I am so touched by the tenderness that I saw from so many today and by how much caring was shown to those who attended, including to me. I really love how this community reached out and connected today."

#ServingHopeLV is a completely independent grassroots community give-back organization dedicated to eliminating homelessness and poverty in the Vegas Valley through giftivism - genuine acts of kindness so radical that they spark change in not just ourselves, but the world, as well. Last year, alone, #ServingHopeLV gave away 64,000 individual meals to those who couldn't afford one, had over 5,000 volunteers join them in their cause, and saved 100 lives from homelessness by placing them into permanent housing.
