Congressman-Elect Rooney to Speak at Chamber of Southwest Florida’s "State of Southwest Florida" Luncheon
Fort Myers, FL, December 15, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Congressman-elect Francis Rooney will deliver the opening remarks at “The State of Southwest Florida: City and County Managers Share Insights,” presented by the Chamber of Southwest Florida on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport at Town Center, 9931 Interstate Commerce Drive.
This luncheon summit will bring city and county managers together to address Southwest Florida’s business community and the interested public, who will in turn enjoy an opportunity to ask questions directly of their public officials.
Rooney recently won election to Florida’s 19th District, defeating Robert M. Neeld. He has been CEO of Manhattan Construction since 2008 and chairman of Rooney Holdings Inc. for more than three decades. From 2005 through 2008, Rooney served as U.S. Ambassador of the Holy See.
The State of Southwest Florida luncheon will also feature Lee County Manager Roger Desjarlais, Bonita Springs City Manager Carl Schwing, Fort Myers City Manager Saeed Kazemi and Cape Coral City Manager John Szerlag. These public officials will present an in-the-trenches perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing our communities.
“As business owners, it is our responsibility to be a voice in our communities,” said Chamber of Southwest Florida Chairman Joe Padgett. “We need to maintain an open dialogue with our city and county government in order to tell them what we need to continue to grow and improve our economy.”
Member seating is available for $30, non-members for $40. Advanced reservations are required by phone at (239) 433-4111 or online at www.chamberswfl.com. Seating for the event is limited and will be confirmed on a first-come basis. A limited number of corporate tables are also available.
