Colorado Family Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for Son with Cerebral Palsy
Black Hawk, CO, December 15, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Gideon’s Garden, the name used to describe the hopeful future hemp farm to be established, operated, and harvested from a portion of land right here in Colorado, is on a mission to raise the necessary funds from potential investors before springtime hits. Officially now a GoFundMe campaign, live for donations and interaction, Gideon’s Garden is hoping to hit a goal of 250k for purchasing the land and necessary farming equipment required to plant and harvest hemp by-products.
The dream began when local father, Greg Chernoff, and his wife gave birth to their son, Gideon, 2 years ago and discovered he was born with cerebral palsy, leaving him unable to sit upright on his own, swallow properly, eat solid foods, speak, or walk.
Just recently, their son began to experience the intense and painful seizures doctors warned would ensue once he grew older. Chernoff is now seeking financial backing to create a hemp farm that would enable his family to grow a low cost and high potency variety of hemp that will produce a large supply of high quality CBD oil, a known natural anti-seizure treatment.
“CBD has been shown to greatly reduce seizure intensity and frequency,” said Chernoff. “In the meantime, our son is forced to take highly dangerous medication to keep his seizures at bay, causing physical and psychological damage. We want to provide him with a natural means at a better life, and that starts with the cultivation of CBD oil.”
Chernoff stated that by making this all-natural high potency medication for Gideon, they will be able to not only take him off his medications which are far more harmful, they will also be able to help other children and adults who suffer from dangerous seizure disorders.
As the research shows, families are currently covering a payment of $300 to $500 per month for CBD oil – a price that is just not sustainable for Chernoff and others. They want their farm to produce this valuable oil at a cost all families can afford.
“While we will be harvesting an incredible oil from our hemp products at our farm, we will also be able to establish a reasonable profit from the plant matter, seeds, and left over byproducts by making hemp textiles, food products, and even industrial strength building materials,” said Chernoff. “The offset price will bring down the CBD oil, and make this entire situation easier on everyone. We are asking for everyone to please help spread the word on our GoFundMe campaign, and to head over today to consider donating as little as $5 before the New Year.”
