The Boeing Company Awards Upgrade Contract for C-17 Program to ITCN, Inc
Dayton, OH, January 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- ITCN, Inc., a pioneer of synchronized instrumentation for embedded systems has been tasked to provide a functional replacement with advanced capabilities to the existing, obsolete monitor and analysis instrumentation used for The Boeing Company’s C-17 program in Long Beach, CA.
The company’s current monitor and analysis capability is built around ITCN’s original C-TAC (R) product line, which was customized specifically for the Boeing C-17. ITCN has since improved and updated their instrumentation technology to C-TAC Plus, which will monitor and analyze key data paths, such as backplanes, data busses, and processors in embedded systems like those used in the C-17 program.
The C-TAC Plus upgrade will support software development, test and integration on the C-17 Line Replaceable Units for the Communication Control Units (CCU), Head-Up Display (HUD), Multi-Functional Display (MFD), and the Warning & Caution Computer (WACC). The original C-TAC units used for software development were over 10 years old.
The Boeing contract represents the fifth program, along with the F-15 AISF, B-2, ULA FTINU for Atlas V, and F/A-18 AWL, to take advantage of the seamless succession and improved technical capabilities of C-TAC Plus. Several more existing C-TAC customers are expected to upgrade to C-TAC Plus.
“We are pleased to offer this upgrade to The Boeing Company. This product allows our customers to preserve their considerable investment in the C-TAC technology with an improved product that will be supported by ITCN well into the future,” said Roy Penwell, President of ITCN, Inc.
