Hella 87.7 FM Nor Cal's New Alternative & Indie Station to Hit Air in January

Redding, CA, December 29, 2016 --(PR.com)-- KNNN-LP, which is also over-the-air TV Channel 6, operates as a radio station on it's 87.7 FM frequency. KNNN-LP until recently aired a country music format called "Hank FM" under the operation of Mapleton Communications, locally known as Redding Radio.

Hella Meada Group LLC of Redding is taking over operations of the station effective January 1. The station will also be changing format to New and Classic Alternative featuring unsigned and local artists according to HMG's President and CEO Jesse Angelo.

In addition to the musical changes Angelo stated, "We will also be placing a heavy emphasis on community involvement including fundraising campaigns, volunteer work and community event hosting while offering up some fun on-air programming that enriches the lives of our community." One such show, "Get Published! Radio with Gerald Everett Jones" is a half hour weekly show that helps aspiring authors find the best way to publish their work.

87.7 is also streaming on all desktop and mobile platforms at HellaRadio.com and Hella877.com. There will also be two other streaming stations available in January as well. "Rocking Grandpa" will play the oldies from the 50's, 60's and 70's and "The Bling" airs a Hip-Hop & R&B format.

The stations physical location is also changing. KNNN will move from it's current location on Alta Mesa Drive to it's new broadcast facilities on North Market Street within the KIXE Television studio building.

"One of the things that make us different to other stations," Angelo continued, "Is that we will be keeping the commercials to a minimum while maintaining a more effective platform for our on-air partners but it also creates a more friendly listening experience. We also will be putting together some exciting musical events and are always eager to hear from independent musicians and artists."

Mr. Angelo is a former Program Director and Producer for Redding Radio and brings with him 25 years of broadcast experience at both the local and national levels.
