Chef Jon-Paul Hutchins in Culinary Showdown with Chef Matt McLinn of Methodé Bistro.
Scottsdale, AZ, January 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Executive Chef Jon-Paul Hutchins of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute will go head-to-head against Chef Matt McLinn of Methodé Bistro in the FBR Phoenix Open Celebrity Cook-Off on Thursday, January 31. The event will be held at the Tournament Player’s Club (TPC) Golf Course in Scottsdale. Each chef will be assisted by a local celebrity from one of the Valley’s professional sports teams.
“This is my fifth year participating in the event,” said Hutchins who has partnered with Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns players in past Celebrity Cook-Offs. “The Open is just one of many annual highlights for locals and tourists and it is so much fun to be a part of the energy and excitement. Great food, professional sports players, and golf in a breathtaking setting - this almost defines the Scottsdale lifestyle. I cannot think of a better place to be, especially as a chef.”
On the day of the cook-off, Hutchins and McLinn will receive a mystery ingredient from which they must create a delicious dish, in less than 30 minutes. The master of ceremonies, Michael DeMaria of Michael’s Catering, and audience members will judge the final dishes. Other than bragging rights, there is no prize for the competition. All FBR Phoenix Open Corporate Village ticket holders are invited to attend.
