OTK Media Group, Inc. Produced “Hollywood, Unapologetic!” - “Set Protocol and Etiquette” Episode, as Part of the “New Hollywood Generation” Movement
Los Angeles, CA, January 11, 2017 --(PR.com)-- OTK Media Group, Inc. and Emmy® Award winner Orlando Delbert have successfully produced and released the fourth episode of ‘Hollywood, Unapologetic!’ – “Set Protocol and Etiquette” as part of the ‘New Hollywood Generation’ movement.
“If you’ve never been on a working set before, or never have been in a filmmaking class, you may not know the proper etiquette expected from one another,” said Delbert. “For any film or television production there are lots of moving parts, lots of time and money involved, and many people doing specific tasks to ensure production is moving forward everyday.”
“Although set protocol is not one of the steps in the filmmaking process, it is crucial to have an understanding of what it is and everyone’s roll,” said Delbert. “There are a lot of moving parts, and everyone needs to stay focused on their tasks, as well as to be aware of what is going on around them. If you’re just starting out, learn where everything is and where everything belongs. You need to know where things are kept. Keep your eyes and ears open.”
“You have to stay focused, Grasshopper,” said Delbert. “One of the biggest things that a person inexperienced in film etiquette may not know is that you have to stay sharp and keep your eyes open all day. This may seem like a no brainer, but for many just starting out, they sometimes seem to be disconnected or not paying attention. You’re there to work, not socialize or spend time on your phone. A film set is one place where people’s lives can be on the line, and any loss in time literally means a loss of money. A film set is not a hang out. It’s a workplace. It is the priority of every person on the set to do his or her job. Period.”

“You have to make yourself valuable,” said Delbert. “One thing you need to ask yourself, “Did I make myself valuable today?” The role of every person involved in any production is to make sure they did their part to help the film succeed. Your time is the production’s time. You need to make yourself valuable and be proactive. If you make yourself an asset, you will begin to be valued. Eyes will be on you, and everyone is relying on you, even if you’re not aware of it. But doing your job right is not enough. Make every effort to be a professional. We are all evaluating one another. Not judging but evaluating. When everyone is doing his or her best, it shows.”
“It is very easy to lose sight of oneself and to remain focused and motivated when life’s pressures are on,” said Delbert. “Have no illusions. The entertainment industry is a grueling business to work in. And to be successful requires a lot more than most people think they have. The bottom line is that no matter what life has thrown at you, take it all lightly and don’t take it personally, find your balance, stay professional, and make yourself of value. These are all the traits one needs to succeed at work and in life.”
