Cupid’s Undie Run Taking Over San Francisco for Children’s Tumor Foundation
Non-profit charity organization Cupid's Undie Run to raise money in fight against neurofibromatosis in San Francisco with help from Pedro’s Cantina, February 2017.
San Francisco, CA, January 12, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Underwear-clad runners will join charitable run organization Cupid’s Undie Run to take over San Francisco on February 18, 2017 in the fight against neurofibromatosis. An anticipated $64,000 in net proceeds from the San Francisco Bay Area run will benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
The roughly mile-long run around the perimeter of AT&T Park will begin at 2 p.m. at 24 Willie Mays Plaza on the corner of King and 3rd streets after runners check in down the block at Pedro’s Cantina on King Street. Check-in begins at 12 p.m. on the day of the event. Ground markers will guide runners around the back of AT&T Park along the waterfront and back around to the Plaza. Runners are then welcome to join the entire Cupid’s Undie Run team and other runners at Pedro’s Cantina for socializing, food and drinks.
All proceeds from the run will be donated to the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) for research for a cure for neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder affecting roughly one in 3,000 births that causes tumors to grow on the body’s nervous system. The disorder causes blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and severe chronic pain in those affected. There is currently no cure for the disease and limited treatment options.
There are 37 cities nationwide and 14 in Australia that fundraise as part of Cupid Charities. This year, the American cities that host Cupid’s Undie Run expect to double last year’s total of $3.5 million raised toward NF research. The San Francisco Bay Area alone plans to fundraise close to $64,000 through runner participation and donations.
Early registration is $25 for the first 5,000 registrants nationwide for 2017 Cupid’s Undie Run events. Team members will receive a registration discount when using their team captain’s referral code. To register as a runner and to register a team, visit https://my.cupids.org/registration/ and choose SF Bay Area in the dropdown.
