Alongside this, in the run up to their addresses at this year’s conference, interviews with Merial, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Alexion are available to download as they discuss the current landscape of pharmaceutical microbiology.
SMi: What do you believe are the biggest challenges for the industry?
Chris Day, Manager, Microbiology, Bristol-Myers Squibb: "I would have to say that transitioning from 'traditional methods or technologies' to more rapid and automated ones, and a company choosing to be 'the first through the wall' with new or novel technologies when approaching regulatory agencies.”
Rapid microbial methods, contamination and endotoxins, environmental monitoring, new mechanisms of detection, risk assessments, the current challenge of biofilms are all hot topics up for discussion this month.
For an enhanced experience, two CPD certified pre-conference workshops will also be hosted alongside the conference by Sanofi and STERIS Corporation and Battelle Memorial Institute to further explore and discuss rapid microbial methods and fungal and bacterial spore contamination.
