William Lutz Files as Candidate for Troy (OH) City Council
Former Board of Education Member makes first run for Council since 1999
Troy, OH, January 19, 2017 --(PR.com)-- William Lutz recently filed petitions with the Miami County Board of Elections as a Candidate in the 2017 Republican Primary seeking an At-Large seat on the Troy City Council.
“This is the first step in a very long process,” said the candidate. “Over the next few weeks and months, I am looking forward to re-engaging with voters and continue to spread a message that our community is a great place to live, work and play.”
This is not the first time that Mr. Lutz has made a run for a seat on Troy City Council. In 1999, as a twenty-one year old college student, he lost a competitive race representing Troy’s Fourth Ward against former Police Officer Ray Bretland. In 2011, Mr. Lutz was elected as a write-in candidate to a two-year term on the Troy City Schools Board of Education.
Over the length of his career, Mr. Lutz has worked in the City of Troy’s Economic Development Department and was appointed as the first Township Administrator of Bethel Township in Miami County. For eight years, he served the City of Piqua in their Development Department and is currently the Executive Director of New Path, Inc., a faith-based non-profit human service agencies that is affiliated with Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City.
“My family has been in this community for generations. I am looking forward to providing whatever talents I can to ensure Troy is a wonderful hometown for decades to come,” said Lutz.
