Naples, FL, February 09, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The number of mosques in Dubai is expected to grow, with 61 new mosques currently under construction in just two neighborhoods of Dubai.
According to the Dubai Statistic Centre (DSC), there were 2,036 mosques located in Dubai in 2015, showing a 20.3% increase from 2014 (1,692 mosques). Dubai is set to invest over Dh398 million in building 30 mosques in Bur Dubai, and 26 in Deira.
Mosque Design & Development Summit will discuss the latest innovations and best practices for the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of mosques in order to meet the latest green standards throughout their life-cycle.
The summit is under the patronage of the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department in UAE and will be held on 3-4 May 2017 in Dubai, UAE.
Eco-friendly mosques are expanding in the region
Investments in mosque design and development expanded to reach the GCC area and abroad.
90,000 mosques across Saudi Arabia are to be made eco-friendly by utilising solar and other renewable sources of energy while 40 to 70 mosques/year are being handed over by Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
Morocco has launched an ambitious “Energy Efficiency in Mosques” program aiming to provide solar power for all mosques in the kingdom, with the first phase deadline set for 2019. 600 mosques are set for a green makeover by March 2019.
Jordan is working on making the mosques energy efficient, currently 400 mosques generate their needs of electricity via solar energy whilst 2,000 mosques are expected to be fully running on renewable energy in 2 years.
