Ski for a Cause, for Applause, Just Because
Media, PA, February 04, 2017 --(PR.com)-- It’s official, six more weeks of winter according to Phil. Skiers and Supporters of the Elwyn community are hitting the slopes on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, Pa. for The Teddy Bedrossian Ski-a-Thon.
The Ski-a-Thon honors the life of Teddy Bedrossian, an adorable, blond-haired, blue-eyed medically fragile special needs boy who passed away nine years ago from kidney failure. When he was born, doctors predicted Teddy would only live to be four months old. Defying the odds, he lived to be 18 years old. He was strong and courageous throughout his medical journey.
During his life, Teddy attended Elwyn, where he received outstanding education, exceptional care and compassionate support. The words of his father, Ned Bedrossian, MD, "There is no place like Elwyn."
The Ski-A-Thon is fun for everyone. Included in the day are a full day lift ticket with line-cutting privileges, a 2017 first-time lesson package, commemorative event tee-shirt, an apres-ski luncheon, an awards ceremony with grand prizes, raffles and a silent auction. Proceeds from the 2017 Ski-a-Thon will support the Davidson School Building Initiative, a state of the art facility for children with intellectual disabilities. Registration will begin at 8 A.M., followed by the event from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.
