Alamia's journey to become a curly hair specialist began as a curious adolescent who was never afraid to ask questions and explore possibilities. Always interested in learning about the world around her through observation and inquiry, Alamia never tires of asking "why.” From the time she was 12-years old, she took every opportunity to ask her hair dresser questions about hair cutting and styling during their time together. Eventually, she began to practice what she learned on anyone who would let her near their hair.
Alamia’s appreciation of art and design lead her to earn a professional degree in Architecture and pursue a career as a sustainable architect. It wasn’t until after a 10-year career as an architect, that Alamia chose to launch her beauty business, The Organic Stylist. "Eventually, I realized that I preferred working one-on-one with my clients, having more creative freedom, and feeling a daily sense of accomplishment," says Alamia.
Alamia's love of learning and attention to detail quickly elevated her craft and landed her a chair at Honeycomb Salon in Noe Valley.
