California Congressman Dana Rohrabacher will give the opening keynote address at the California Cannabis Business Expo at 1 PM on March 5. There will be a 5 PM meet-and-greet with Rohrabacher following the day's events.
San Diego, CA, February 18, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) will be the opening keynote at the Third Annual California Cannabis Business Expo, March 5-8 at the Sheraton Marina, San Diego. There will be an opening night reception for Rohrabacher, who has been a staunch supporter of legal cannabis.
On Feb. 8 Rohrabacher introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives designed to resolve the conflict between state and federal marijuana laws and would allow states to determine their own marijuana policies.
Known as the Respect State Marijuana Laws Act, it exempts individuals and entities from certain provisions of the Controlled Substances Act if they are acting in compliance with state marijuana laws. This is the third time that Rohrabacher has introduced the bill. Twenty of his colleagues in the House, including seven Republicans, co-sponsored the Respect State Marijuana Laws Act of 2015, which was introduced in the 114th Congress.
“Congressman Rohrabacher has been a staunch supporter of legal cannabis and we’re delighted to welcome him to our event,” said Randy Shipley, MJIC Media President. “We look forward to hearing his thoughts on the future of the industry.”
Rohrabacher will be introduced by NORML founder Keith Stroup at the 1:00 PM session on March 5. A 5:00 PM meet-and-greet reception for Congressman Rohrabacher will conclude the day’s events at the Sheraton Marina, 1380 Harbor Island Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.
