Dover Downs Hotel & Casino’s Gordon Basht Honored as Manager of the Year by the Delaware Hotel & Lodging Association

Dover, DE, February 25, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Dover Downs Hotel & Casino’s Gordon Basht was honored as the Delaware Hotel & Lodging Association’s Manager of the Year on Feb. 17.

Basht, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino’s Senior Director of Hotel Sales, was one of several winners announced during the Stars of the Industry 2017 Annual Awards Dinner at Embassy Suites in Newark.

Basht, who has worked at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino for 10 years, was nominated by Tina Madanat, a Tourism Development Leader with the Delaware Tourism Office.

“Gordon is a team player and his staff is an extension of his leadership and can-do approach,” Madanat wrote in her nominating letter. “Gordon also has a true grasp of how to achieve customer satisfaction, which has resulted in a loyal clientele.

“An exemplary performer in sales and hospitality, Gordon leads a dedicated sales staff that works effectively with industry partners to ensure successful visits, happy clients and repeat business.”

Basht recently completed a two-year term on the American Bus Association Leadership Committee for Marketplace Orientation, and is serving a two-year term as a member of the ABA Resource Center Committee. Basht has also served on the Meetings Delaware Coalition, which brings together county, state and hotel leaders to attract large meetings to the First State.

Basht is a community liaison with Dover Air Force Base and a 2016 graduate of the Central Delaware Leadership Program.
