Ronald Ewing of RE/MAX Horizon, Elgin, Named 2016 Single-Office Broker/Owner of the Year in Northern Illinois

Chicago, IL, March 10, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Ronald Ewing of RE/MAX Horizon, 374 N. McLean Blvd., Elgin, recently was named Single-Office Broker/Owner of the Year by RE/MAX Northern Illinois at its 40th Annual Awards Celebration on Feb. 17 at Navy Pier.

In presenting the award to Ewing, RE/MAX saluted his exceptional commitment to both the RE/MAX brand and to the broader professional and civic communities of which he is a part. He not only manages RE/MAX Horizon and its 31 brokers but also has been a leader of the Realtor Association of the Fox Valley for many years, serving as its president in 2014 and currently working with the association in the area of government affairs for the more than 1,400-member group.

Ewing, who grew up in the Elgin area and graduated from Dundee High School, worked as a technology manager for a major accounting firm before changing his career focus and joining RE/MAX Horizon as an agent in 2002.

“I always wanted to own a small business, so from the beginning I told the broker/owner at the time that if he ever was interested in selling, I’d like to buy the franchise,” Ewing recalls. “What I didn’t anticipate is that he would choose to sell in 2008 just before our industry headed into a serious downturn, but we survived that challenge and I’m glad to say our office is growing again.”

As an owner, Ewing reports that his proudest achievements involved using the technical expertise he developed in his prior career to help his office and its brokers make good use of today’s many tech tools.

“We’ve been leaders in that area and were among the first real estate offices in the region to implement an electronic transaction management system that keeps paperwork to a minimum and helps maximize our brokers’ effectiveness,” he said.
