Deadpool Creator Rob Liefeld Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Extreme Studios
Comic Book Author, Writer and Creator Rob Liefeld is reviving his Extreme Studio for its 25th Anniversary with a celebratory limited signing bringing together 13 of the original Extreme Studio Artists.
Orange County, CA, March 13, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Comic Book Author, Writer and Creator Rob Liefeld, best known as creator of Marvel’s Deadpool, is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of his Extreme Studios brand with a celebratory limited signing in Orange, CA on March 30th, 2017 at Big Red Comics in Orange, CA. The event will bring together Liefeld and 13 of the original Extreme Studio Artists to sign a Limited Edition program made specially for this one off occasion as well as other Extreme Studios titles.
In 1992, Liefeld and several other artists left Marvel Comics to form IMAGE Comics. Each of the Co-founders created their own studio within the IMAGE brand. Liefeld created Extreme Studios in Orange County, CA, seeking to create a first of its kind expansive comic book community for that area. Extreme Studios became the first to release a comic under the IMAGE brand, Youngblood (coincidentally also being revived in 2017). Extreme Studios was the top studio in the comics field worldwide, their family of titles second only to X-Men with a 5.78 market share according to Market Reports. Extreme Studios line of comics regularly outsold DC’s “Batman” and Justice League” series and Marvel’s “Spiderman” as well as other Image founders individual studios Wildstorm (from Jim Lee) and TMP (from Spawn’s Todd McFarland) The talent that created these powerhouse titles including Youngblood, Brigade, Bloodstrike, Prophet and Avengelyne (with over 100 unique characters) found success in and beyond comic books, helping to shape pop culture in the fields of animation, games and film for the past two decades. Their vast list of credits include Batman: The Animated Series, Ben 10, DC Comics, Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe, Robot Chicken, Con Man and Max Steele to name a few.
"I am beyond thrilled to be working together with these amazing artists as well as reuniting with them back together after 25 years," said Liefeld. "I was fortunate to see the unique potential in each of these artists when they were just starting out and give many of them their very first, or their biggest break in the comics industry. Watching them build their impressive resumes over the years and help shape the entertainment industry for the past two decades has been one of the highlights of my 30 year career."
