HOUSE OF ORGANIC was created by eco-conscious design collective EKOVARUHUSET and intends to set a new standard for the fashion industry by providing environmental and socially responsible designers with a platform to showcase their original designs during an event in the fashion industry. The fashion show aims to redefine the perception of organic and ethical fashion by presenting luxurious, stylish and sexy creations from some of the most creative designers in the industry pioneering the eco-fashion movement.
Designers participating in the fashion show will use only organic and sustainable materials that are free from harmful chemicals and animal cruelty, promote the use of smaller scale local production units, and support producers that practice fair working conditions and ethical practice for their employees. The goal is to show the fashion industry, media and public that sustainable fashion can combine appealing and innovative designs with environmental and social advantages. By providing a stage for designers to showcase their sustainable collections during New York Fashion Week, the objective is to create an open forum for the fashion industry to view, discuss and incorporate ethical practices for their businesses.
