Marlborough Job Fair Aims to Help Employers Fill Entry-Level Positions
Marlborough job fair will focus on offering entry-level and mid-level jobs at local companies
Marlborough, MA, March 17, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), in conjunction with the City of Marlborough, will hold a job fair to help connect jobseekers to local employers who are looking to fill entry-level and mid-level positions.
The “Marlborough Works!” Spring Job Fair - scheduled to take place on May 11, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Courtyard Marriott in Marlborough - will showcase local entry-level and mid-level job openings in manufacturing, trades, services, retail, hospitality, healthcare, science, business, education, finance, IT/computers, and other industries.
About 25 companies are expected to take part in the job fair. OYO Sports, Prudential Financial, WaterSep BioSeparations and Courtyard Marriott have already confirmed their attendance.
"Marlborough's strong economic growth over the past few years can be found across all job types, from high-level life sciences positions to opportunities to start a career in the service industry,” said Marlborough Mayor Arthur Vigeant. ”This job fair is dedicated to helping Marlborough residents who may not have finished college yet, or are just looking to get started in an entry level position."
“The annual ‘Marlborough Works!’ Job Fair has been a great success over the years and has helped us fill a lot of the job openings that came with the large life sciences, manufacturing and tech companies that have been moving to Marlborough,” said MEDC Executive Director, Meredith Harris. “But we realized that a lot of those jobs were senior positions and, often, in very specialized fields, which left many jobseekers who don’t have the education or experience without any opportunities. We’re hoping that those people will find a lot of job options at the Spring Job Fair, and our local employers will get access to a great talent pool to fill their entry-level positions.”
Marlborough employers, who are looking to fill entry-level and mid-level positions, are invited to reserve their spots at the “Marlborough Works!” Spring Job Fair by emailing Linda Martins at lmartins@marlboroughedc.com, or calling the MEDC office at 508-229-2010. The event is open to Marlborough-based businesses only. Space is limited and companies will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
