Williamsburg Business to Host April Fundraiser for Local Children with Autism
Williamsburg personal training studio, Results Performance Training to raise money for One Child Center for Autism with Bootcamp Classes during the month of April, recognized as Autism Awareness Month.
Williamsburg, VA, March 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Results Performance Training Owner, Detric Smith enjoys finding ways to give back to the community, through both fitness and monetary support. When RPT Bootcamp member Julie Cullifer told Detric about the non-profit she founded to help children with autism and other developmental disabilities, Detric jumped at the chance to help.
"As a former educator, I realize how important it is to provide support for families affected by autism. This is a great cause, and I am thrilled to be able to offer my support. At RPT we cherish helping members, and helping our community is no different," Smith explains.
During the month of April, Detric invites guests to attend any Bootcamp Class at Results Performance Training for a $10 donation to One Child Center for Autism. All fitness levels can benefit from Bootcamp Classes and will enjoy a friendly, supportive environment.
“One Child is excited to be teaming up with Results Performance Training during the month of April to help bring awareness about autism in our local community and to raise funds for One Child to help us continue to provide services to local families. Our mission is to provide services and support for children and families affected by autism and other developmental differences regardless of financial circumstance. One Child provides a wide variety of services including social skills groups, art therapy, a sibling art club, parents support groups, a monthly respite night and individual speech services,” Cullifer shares.
Not only does One Child strive to keep therapy costs at a minimum for families by utilizing the time and skill of countless staff and volunteers, they also provide scholarships to families with financial needs. Making therapies and services available and affordable is critical to well-being of the special needs community.
Julie further explains, “Families affected by autism and other developmental differences face financial challenges associated with expensive health care and therapy costs; however, these families also face other unique financial challenges such as the need for specialized equipment, dietary requirements, medicines, supplements, and highly skilled sitters (because leaving your special needs child with the teenager next door is not a possibility), all of which can be costly. Donations to One Child go directly into making our therapies affordable and to fund scholarships.”
