In the Shadows Web Series Seeking Contributors
Columbus, OH, March 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Have an interest in ghost stories? Folklore? Monster movies? World religions? Urban legends? Tales of ancient gods? The eternal struggle of Good vs. Evil? Then "In the Shadows" is the series to see. Its Kickstarter campaign just began and is looking for contributors. (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/intheshadowsws/in-the-shadows-pilot-101)
“In the Shadows” follows the story of two seemingly regular men who, through no fault of their own, encounter creatures previously relegated to mythology. One is Edris, a young man who comes from a more conservative Muslim family and grew up sheltered. He’s now a nerd who spends most of his free time playing tabletop games, despite having girlfriend Nawal in his life. The second is Jack, an ex-marine who is trying to readjust to civilian life with the help of his girlfriend Sarah and his rekindled friendship with Edris.
Jack and Edris’ world gets thrown into chaos when Nawal becomes the latest victim in a string of disappearances that have been rocking their city. Not trusting the police, who have not solved any of the disappearances so far, the duo begins their own investigation. Along the way, they learn there are greater forces at work in the world than mere humans and that there are some things no one is prepared to face.
One of the tenets of this series that sets it apart is a call for diversity in actors, characters, and narratives. Which traditional American monsters and religious mythologies will be highlighted, the creators also want to show mythologies that are ignored or antagonized in American films and television. Therefore, there will also be a focus on European, Middle Eastern, and African characters and religions. This is a great series to support and help grow.
