Port of Subs® Joins with Nevada SPCA for Pennies for Puppies and Kitties Program
Customers urged to "round up" their purchases to aid Nevada SPCA.
Las Vegas, NV, April 01, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Port of Subs® 40 Southern Nevada locations are offering customers the opportunity to help feed puppies and kittens, simply by choosing to “round up” their purchases between April 3rd and April 15th.
Pennies for Puppies and Kitties addresses the need the Nevada SPCA faces each spring and summer, as hundreds of puppies and kittens come into the world.
Customers will be asked if they’d like to “round up” their purchase as a donation for the cause. “The Nevada SPCA fits into our core philanthropic philosophy: ‘Eat Good and Do Good,’ and we are excited to help them fill their need,” said Jim Braun, Port of Subs’ Field Marketing Consultant for Southern Nevada.
“Port of Subs is committed to the communities we serve, and we appreciate the opportunity to give back to our friends, neighbors and community,” Braun continued.
March marks the beginning of breeding season, and the Nevada SPCA takes in hundreds of puppies and kittens each year as a result. The Nevada SPCA is a no-kill shelter, meaning that they often take in puppies and kittens from other shelters, helping to handle overflow. Food costs are a constant challenge, according to Doug Duke, Nevada SPCA’s Executive Director.
The Nevada SPCA rescues the animals, vaccinates them, spays or neuters and places a large number of them in foster homes, awaiting forever homes. “We saved thousands of kittens and puppies by the end of last summer,” said Duke. “Many of these animals are medically fragile, and have special dietary needs. We truly appreciate the generosity of Port of Subs and its customers. A few pennies at a time will help us care for a whole lot of puppies and kittens.”
