U.S. Army Veteran Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Raise $1 Million Dollars to Produce an Award Winning Screenplay About a Women Exclusive Martial Arts Tournament
Los Angeles, CA, April 06, 2017 --(PR.com)-- “F3: Ferocious Femme Fatale” follows the journey of five women warriors in the women’s only F3 martial arts tournament where the last woman standing wins one million dollars, or choose to fight the creator, Sage, the blind warrior, for the title of “Queen of the F3” tournament and fifty million dollars. The story won Best Martial Arts Script at the 2016 “Urban Action Showcase International Action Film Festival” in New York City. Writer and CEO of Strife’s Way Productions, Ltd., Rashawn Strife, has joined Kickstarter hoping to raise one million dollars or more to produce his movie. The campaign will run from now until Wednesday May 3rd.
“F3 is like Mortal Kombat starring the women, with the Sega Genesis blood code activated, and a splash of inspiration from Japanese animes: Dragonball Z, Naruto, and Yu Yu Hakusho!” said Strife. “Before I joined the military, I worked as a producer with the goal of creating acting jobs for people of color and REAL martial artists.” Strife has produced an Off-Broadway martial arts play, five short films, and a feature film. His latest short film, “F3: Kelly Vs. Sarah” a prelude to “F3: Ferocious Femme Fatale,” is an "Official Selection" at the 2017 “Artemis Women In Action Film Festival” in Beverly Hills, CA.
Strife joined the army in February 2012, graduated basic combat training at Fort Benning, GA then Advance Individual Training with honors at Fort Lee, VA to become an army cook. He was then stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, in the 62nd Medical Brigade. He helped the Courage Inn dining facility win the prestigious Philip A. Connelly Award in 2014 and 2015. Strife was honorably discharged from active duty then joined the California National Guard July 2015 currently serving in the 40th BSB HHC Unit in Bell. He volunteered in the Fire Mission August 2016 where he and his unit assisted CalFire in eradicating the upstate wild fires.
“I hope everyone will support my Kickstarter. F3 will be more gratifying as an independent film, because we won’t mess it up by watering down the action, language, and whitewashing my characters. As is, the script is eligible for the SAG/AFTRA ‘Casting In Diversity’ incentive,” said Strife. The incentive allows filmmakers with budgets up to $1,050,000.00 to hire union actors for one-third of normal rates if 50% or more of its cast are members from an underrepresented group: Women, people of color, performers age 60 and over, and/or performers with disabilities.
If “F3” reaches its goal, casting will begin in June. Rehearsals in July/August, and shooting in September. The rewards offered for pledging are: PDF of shooting script, t-shirts, digital copy of “F3: Kelly Vs. Sarah” short film, the “F3: Ferocious Femme Fatale” feature film when it is completed, tickets to the Los Angeles premiere and after-party, associate producer’s credit, and a chance to be in the movie. If the campaign raises $1,500,000.00 million dollars or more, another F3 short film will be produced, and released on YouTube months prior to the world premiere of “F3: Ferocious Femme Fatale” feature-length movie. Strife will play as "Sage." Actress and "Queen of the martial arts" Cynthia Rothrock will play a supporting role. Twin fashion designers, To-Tam and To-Nya Sachika will design dresses for the lead actresses, and play as principal roles.
