Equus International Film Festival ® Organizer Janet Rose April Guest on Horsemanship Radio & Podcast with Monty Roberts
Missoula, MT, April 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- On April 13, Equus International® Film Festival founder Janet Rose was guest on the lunchtime edition of Horsemanship Radio and Podcast with Monty Roberts. The 20-minute, live talk with the Montana horsewoman and animal advocate included a look at some of the exciting entries in this September’s film festival as well as the ‘bigger picture’ behind the event – building community and advocacy for horses and young people at risk.
“I love horses, all animals and wildlife but seeing the impact that horses can have on young people, how horses can change kids’ lives and likewise, how beneficial the interactions are for the horses, this creates a feeling inside that’s irreplaceable,” Rose says. “The films in the film festival, and how they make people feel, how they inspire us, this is just a natural extensions of this process. It’s why I started the film festival and want it to grow, because it is changing lives, both horse and human.”
The Native America Humane Society (NAHS) is among the groups partnering with Equus International Film Festival ® and conference, September 15-17, in Missoula, Montana to especially honor the bond between horses and Native American society and cultures. Horsemanship Radio is an online radio show (podcast) dedicated to the exploration of good horsemanship throughout the world. My intention was to use a field I knew well to enhance what we could do for horses and other equines and create something meaningful. With a good team in place, maybe we can do something great. Founding EIFF was a labor of love. It's not about awards as much as it's about awareness; improving the welfare of horses, ponies, mules and donkeys worldwide while celebrating the incredible spectrum of our equine arena and sharing its stories.”
