Marlborough Launches Efforts to Attract Brewpub to the City
MEDC kicks off a campaign to bring a brewpub into the city’s downtown area.
Marlborough, MA, April 26, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has launched a marketing campaign to attract a brewpub to downtown Marlborough.
The campaign kicks off with a print advertisement in the May issue of BeerAdvocate, one of the most-revered industry publications and the only monthly beer magazine in circulation in the U.S. The MEDC has also launched a dedicated “Brewpub Wanted” webpage, which outlines some of the benefits of opening a brewpub in Marlborough.
“We are very excited to spearhead the efforts to bring a brewpub into downtown Marlborough,” said MEDC executive director, Meredith Harris. “The influx of companies and jobs into the city and the upcoming residential developments in downtown Marlborough, have brought more people, with more money to spend, to the area. We are now focusing our efforts on creating and expanding Marlborough’s recreation and entertainment offerings, so people don’t have to leave the city to find places to relax and unwind. A brewpub would be an ideal addition to our downtown and would be a tremendous boon to the area, which would ultimately benefit all of the local businesses and residents. We are ready to help any interested brewers with whatever we can to make their move to Marlborough as smooth and rewarding as possible.”
In 2014, the MEDC led the downtown Marlborough rezoning efforts, which allowed for a number of new uses by right, including brewpubs.
