Gerald N. Goldberg, MD, Tucson, AZ Dermatologist Receives National Award for Laser Medicine Excellence at the ASLMS Annual Conference

Tucson, AZ, April 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Gerald N. Goldberg, MD, Medical Director, Laser Surgeon, and President of Pima Dermatology, is the 2017 recipient of the Leon Goldman Memorial Award. This is the most distinguished award in the country for excellence in laser medicine and only one award is given nationwide each year. The prestigious award was presented to him on Friday, April 7, 2017 in San Diego, California during the 37th Annual Conference of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, Inc. (ASLMS). Established in 1998, it is given in memory of the many contributions of Leon Goldman, MD, the “Father of Laser Medicine.”

Dr. Gerald Goldberg is board-certified in pediatrics and dermatology and has over 30 years of experience as a Dermatologist and Laser Surgeon. Internationally-recognized for his expertise in Laser medicine, he is certified in more than 25 Laser modalities. He has a special interest and extensive knowledge in the laser treatment of vascular birthmarks in children as well as in laser skin resurfacing. He presented his award lecture titled, “Challenges in Dermatologic Lasers: Past, Present and Future,” during the “Cutting Edge: Laser and Skin Plenary Session” on Saturday, April 8 at the Conference. Dr. Goldberg stated, "I am grateful and humbled to receive this honor which recognizes my focus on providing excellence in patient care throughout my career. This crown award marks outstanding professional achievement. The recipient needs to have established longitudinal merit and skill throughout his/her career in performing clinical laser research, providing high-quality laser services to patients or educating others in medical laser applications. The individual honored must also share the characteristics of Leon Goldman, MD himself, possessing an immense dedication to patients with high ethical standards and honesty at the helm.
