St. Cloud Regional Medical Center’s Commitment to Osceola County Continues Top Priority in Serving Community with Quality Care

St. Cloud, FL, April 28, 2017 --(PR.com)-- St. Cloud Regional Medical Center has touched over 68,800 lives this past year, positively impacting the well-being of St. Cloud and its surrounding areas, fulfilling its commitment to serve the healthcare needs of the area. The hospital continued to see additional demand in admissions, surgeries, emergency department visits, and outpatient visits such as laboratory, radiology, and physical therapy.

To support and enhance services, St. Cloud Regional Medical Center invested millions of dollars back in to the hospital in 2016 through added equipment, updated areas of care, patient room renovations and overall facilities upgrades.

One of the most notable projects completed throughout the course of the year, was the American Disability Act upgrades, creating improved access for patients and visitors with disabilities. St. Cloud Regional Medical Center invested nearly one million dollars into both interior and exterior updates to include restroom expansions, automatic door installations, an added handicapped-accessible surgical patient room, handicap parking resurfacing, and improved building access with railing installations.

Not only were building upgrades completed in 2016, but certain equipment was updated as well. The radiology department received a new digital imaging and x-ray system valued at just over half-a-million dollars which will allow for faster scanning and better image quality. Additional funds were invested into upgrading current stress lab equipment and also expanding this patient care area to allow added space to monitor cardiovascular patients.

Most obvious to the patients of St. Cloud Regional Medical Center, all Progressive Care Unit (PCU) inpatient rooms were updated with new furnishings and finishes added to these rooms. With the completion of this renovation, St. Cloud Regional Medical Center has now refurbished 75% of their patient beds within an 18 month timeframe.
