Manhattan Rental Market Declines and Concessions Increase

New York, NY, April 29, 2017 --(PR.com)-- With the rental market at a low, renters are negotiating winning concessions.

New York renters are getting a break right now. Rents have dropped through the winter and concessions are being offered at an all-time high.

These trends are expected to continue through the summer as landlords work to get their vacancies filled.

According to Manchester Real Estate, the value of these concessions can help make living in a new building more affordable. “It’s almost a given in new buildings that you can negotiate, and there are plenty of new buildings on the market right now,” said Blaise Punturo President of Manchester Real Estate.

Some of these include American Cooper Buildings at 626 First Ave. and Brooklyn neighborhoods along the L line.

According to Street Easy, rents in Manhattan were down by $70 per month. In Brooklyn, rents were down $130 per month. While buildings aren’t advertising concessions, renters should still ask when negotiating a rental.
