BAFTA Glory for The Lives of Others, Predicts Radio Times Film Expert

BAFTA predictions in Radio Times magazine.

London, United Kingdom, February 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Radio Times film critic Andrew Collins predicts that The Lives of Others will beat fellow contenders including No Country for Old Men and Atonement to win the coveted Best Film category at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards on Sunday 10th February.

In this week’s Radio Times, Collins also tips:
- The Lives of Others will win the Best Original Screenplay award
- Atonement, starring Keira Knightley, will scoop the Best British Film award
- Ang Lee’s Lust, Caution will win Best Foreign Language Film
- Joel and Ethan Coen will win Best Director for No Country for Old Men
- Daniel Day-Lewis will top the Best Actor category for his role in There Will Be Blood
- Julie Christie will win the Best Actress award for her performance in Away from Her
- Supporting actor and actress awards will go to Javier Bardem and Cate Blanchett

British actor and Full Monty star Tom Wilkinson also tells Radio Times:

“There have been some very bleak films this year that are BAFTA and Oscar favourites, so maybe that reflects the sobriety of the times. There aren’t enough British films in the main nominations. It’s almost all American films. Maybe what it’s saying is that there is no British film industry, which is sort of true.”
