Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions and Comtel Enter AdvancedTCA Development and Marketing Partnership

Brockton, MA, February 23, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions and Comtel Electronics GmbH have joined into a strategic technology partnership to develop and market open architecture chassis, backplanes and shelf managers. The partnership leverages both companies' engineering expertise and technology strengths to address the emerging ATCA and other open architecture markets in both North America and Europe.

The first collaborative effort generated by the Carlo Gavazzi and Comtel partnership yields a full line of AdvancedTCA (ATCA) products including 2U two slots through 13U 16 slot shelves. Each system may be configured with full mesh or dual star backplanes and Pigeon Point or Motorola shelf management solutions. The highly modular and flexible set of offerings can be configured and integrated to support development and proof of concept systems through production ready RoHS and NEBS deployable platforms. The partnership also allows for efficient scalability for medium to high volume applications. Other open architectures products are being explored for mutual development and marketing between the two companies.
