Two ARGI Employees Honored as WKU Alumni
Louisville, KY, May 05, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Western Kentucky University recognizes two ARGI employees as notable Alumini.
Western Kentucky University (WKU) recognized two current ARGI employees at the annual Gordon Ford College of Business Alumni Awards dinner on Friday April 28. Joe Reeves, CFP®, and Jeanne J. Fisher, CFP®, CFPA, MBA of ARGI Financial Group, a Louisville-based personal and business financial services firm, were recognized as honorable alumni of the college.
The Gordon Ford College of Business (GFCB) is an internationally recognized school of business and accounting programs. It is only one of 178 colleges accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)1. AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools by advancing management education through thought leadership.
Last Friday, WKU’s Gordon Ford College of Business recognized current students, faculty, staff and alumni achievements at their 20th annual recognition dinner, with over 300 in attendance. Fisher and Reeves were recognized for this year’s Alumni awards – Fisher named Recent Alumni, since graduating in 2008, and Reeves named overall Alumni.
To be considered for the award, alumni must fulfill outstanding achievements in one or more of the following eligibility requirements:
• Nominees must have attended or graduated from Western Kentucky University or the Bowling Green College of Commerce with an interest or program related to study in Business.
• Professional and business accomplishments
• Leadership within a business, organization or industry
• Unique or substantial public service
• Creative and/or entrepreneurial leadership or new venture creation
• Contributions to philanthropic and humanitarian causes including the advancement of higher education.
“I’m proud to be a WKU alum, and honored to be recognized for this award,” Fisher explains. “As an AACSB internationally recognized school, Western provided me with the tools and knowledge I needed for a solid foundation early on in my financial planning career. This extensive educational training in addition to the life-long mentoring relationships with my professors, especially Dr. Indu Chhachhi, are the true reasons for my successful career.”
“This award is an honor and testament to the dedication of WKU’s business students,” says Reeves, CEO of ARGI. “I’m proud to have graduated from this school – a school which I believe is dedicated to instilling education, teamwork and integrity in each student at the Gordon Ford College of Business. These beliefs are at the heart of ARGI’s core values, which is why we continue to develop our relationship with the school and its recent alumni. Over the past few years, we have made conscious efforts to recruit new employees from Western, because we recognize their education and potential in the financial services industry. As a Hilltopper, I may be biased, but we’re proud to employ over 10% of our workforce as alumni from WKU, and we hope to see many more on our staff in the future.”
Over the past two decades, ARGI has grown to seven offices in four states. They’ve made the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America for eight consecutive years (2009-2016)*, were named the 2016 Business First Company of the Year – Medium Category, one of the country’s 101 Best and Brightest Places to Work For*, and most recently named one of Kentucky’s Best Places to Work for the sixth consecutive year.*
