Talking Books Plus is Celebrating Spring with a Huge Used Book Sale

Lakewood, CO, May 18, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Talking Books Plus, a local bookstore located in Lakewood, Co on Wadsworth Blvd just north of Hampden, has been known for the past sixteen years as just a an audio bookstore. The store was the only bookstore in Colorado that provided fans of audio books the ability to save money by offering audio books on a rental basis. They also sold new and used audio books.

In 2016, the owners, Don and Ceres Huck, took a look at their neighborhood and found that there was no local bookstore anymore selling used paper and hardback books. They noticed that people would occasionally come into their store looking for a paperback for a plane ride or they would get a call for a child needing a printed book for school and the library was out of all the copies. As they did not carry printed books, they could not fill that need.

To solve the problem, the Huck’s decided to take a hard look at their space. They reduced down a large percentage of audio books on tape that were taking up space. They consolidate different sections and re-configured the existing racks to make space for taking in paperbacks and hardback books. Their inventory consists of over 2,000 books in all different genres, from popular fiction to biographies, history and spirituality. The books have mostly been donated and/or traded in for store credit.

Since the end of of 2016, sales have been brisk in the new four aisles of paper books.

In the past two weeks, they have taken in over 200 hundred new quality used books. Their shelves are now overflowing with books, so they have decided to have a Spring Used Book Sale. All used paper and audio books are normally sold at 50% off the retail price.

For the Spring Sale, extra discounts will be given. The breakdown is as follows: Used Hardback Books will be discounted down an additional 50% off the already reduced 50% off price (a total savings of 75% off the retail price); Used Paperback Books will be discounted an additional 10% off the already reduced 50% off price (a total savings of 60% off the retail price); Used Audio Books on CD will be discounted an additional 10% off the already 50% reduced price (a total savings is 60% off the retail price); and Used Books on Tape will be discounted an additional 30% off any 50% already reduced price (a total savings of 80% off the retail price).
